Terms of use

What you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. No surprises in the small print — there is no small print.

Who the agreement is with

The Nextrum service is run by Leo Constantinos Thriskos and Alexandar Jovanovic, Mönsteråsgränd 4, 122 42 Enskede, Sweden.

The limited company Nextrum AB is being formed and is not yet registered. The agreement is therefore entered into with us as private individuals. Once the company is registered the agreement transfers to it, and we will tell you before that happens.

What Nextrum is

Nextrum arranges tutoring. We match a student with a tutor, provide the platform where sessions are booked and followed up, and handle payment and the tutors’ pay.

We are not a school and we do not promise a particular grade or result. What we do promise is that the tutor was selected by us, that you can see what happens between sessions, and that you can switch or stop whenever you like.

Accounts

  • The account is created by an adult. Children do not register themselves.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide, and for keeping your password to yourself.
  • An account is personal and must not be shared.

Booking, moving and cancelling

  • Sessions are whole hours, one to three. The family suggests a time, and the tutor accepts it or suggests another. A session is booked only once both have said yes.
  • A session can be moved or cancelled by either party until it has taken place. Whoever cancels gives a reason, and the other party gets an email about the cancellation with the reason. A session that has already been paid is cancelled by contacting us.
  • A session counts as completed only once the tutor has written the report. A session that never took place costs nothing: if it has already been paid, we refund the full amount.
  • If the student does not turn up without cancelling, the session counts as completed and must be paid. If it has already been paid, the amount is not refunded.

Price and payment

  • Nextrum is your counterparty for the payment. You pay us, you contact us if an amount looks wrong, and we are the ones who refund. The tutor is never your counterparty in a question about money.
  • The hourly price is shown on the pricing page, and the price that applies is the one shown at the time of booking.
  • You pay for each session by card, either in advance or after the session when you confirm the report. In advance is possible as soon as the tutor has confirmed the time. After the session the tutor writes a report, and you pay once you have read and confirmed it in your view.
  • After the session you can choose an invoice instead, which comes at the start of the following month with ten days to pay and no fee. The invoice lists the sessions that month you chose an invoice for, and it also shows under Payment in your view. If an earlier invoice has not been paid, we may close the invoice option for you until it is.
  • You confirm the report even when the session has already been paid. A session that has taken place must be paid even if the report has not been confirmed.
  • The price applies to the time the session actually lasted, counted per started quarter of an hour. The tutor enters the time in the report, and if the session ran longer or shorter than booked, it says so there, with the reason, before you confirm. If the time is wrong, write to us before you pay. If you choose an invoice, it is the time actually held that goes on it. If you have already paid and the session ran longer, you pay the extra when you confirm the report. If it was shorter, we refund the difference. If the session was paid with hours from a plan or prepaid hours, hours that were not started come back automatically, and what was left of the last hour is saved in your time bank.
  • If you have bought hours in advance, in a plan or as prepaid hours, your hours pay for the session instead, automatically, as soon as you propose it. See Plans and prepaid hours below.
  • Card payments are handled by Stripe. You give your card details directly to Stripe, never to us, and we do not store them.
  • No registration fee, no monthly fee and no minimum term. You pay for the sessions you book and for hours you have chosen to buy in advance, nothing else.

Plans and prepaid hours

You can buy hours in advance at a lower price: a plan for one month, or prepaid hours. What is available and what it costs is shown on the pricing page. It is a one-off purchase, by card. It is not a subscription and does not renew by itself.

  • How long the hours are valid. A plan is valid for one month from the purchase. 10, 20 or 30 prepaid hours are valid for 6 months, 60 hours for 12 months and 100 hours for 18 months. The last day is shown in your view.
  • How the hours are used. The hours pay for your sessions automatically. When you propose a session, the hours are taken from the plan or prepaid hours that expire first, and if the tutor suggests another time, they stay with the session. If the tutor declines, you withdraw the proposal or the day passes without an answer, the hours come back. If you buy hours, or hours come back, while you have proposed or booked sessions coming up that are not paid, they pay for them in date order, as far as they go. Each started hour of the session uses one hour, and what is left of the last hour is saved in your time bank. The hours cover sessions with one child; a session with more children is paid by card, as is a session where an hour is free and a session the hours do not cover.
  • The time bank. If a session paid with hours ends before a full hour, the rest is saved in your time bank, counted per started quarter of an hour: if a two-hour session lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes, 15 minutes are saved. If a later session runs over, the time is taken from the time bank first, at no cost, as far as the minutes go and when the session is for one child. If the minutes cover a whole session, they pay for the next session you propose, unless bought hours do. The time bank belongs to the family, siblings share it, and the minutes do not expire.
  • Cancelling. You cancel a session paid with hours yourselves in your view, like an unpaid session. The hours then come back and stay valid until the same day as before. If an hour is lost because we or the tutor cancelled too late for you to use it, we refund it at the price you paid.
  • Stopping. If you want to stop before the hours are used, we refund what is left. The hours you have already used are then counted at the regular hourly price, since the discount applies because you buy all the hours. During the first 14 days after the purchase, the right of withdrawal applies instead, and the hours used are then counted at the price you paid. Minutes in the time bank are refunded at the regular hourly price.
  • Hours that have not been used. Hours left when the period has ended expire. Ten days before, we email you if you have hours left. Get in touch before then if you will not have time to use them, and we refund the rest as described in the point above.

Price guarantee

What you paid for a plan or prepaid hours is the price for all the hours in it. If we raise the hourly price in the meantime, the hours you have already bought do not cost more, and you never pay a difference. If you stop, the hours used are counted at the regular hourly price that applied when you bought them, not at a later, higher one.

Recommend a family

Every family and study helper with an account has their own code, under Profile in their view. A family that signs up with the code, through the link or by typing it in the enquiry form, got the recommendation from you.

  • An hour for free. When a new family that signed up with your code has had its first session, you get one hour of homework help for free. New means that the family had not had any session with us before it signed up. You get one hour per family you recommended, and if a family got several codes, the first one it signed up with counts.
  • How the hour is used. It is deducted from the next homework help session you propose, one hour per session, at that session's own hourly price. You pay for the rest of a longer session as usual, by card or invoice; prepaid hours do not pay for a session where an hour is free. If the session is cancelled, or the study helper says no to the time, the hour comes back.
  • The hour is not money. It cannot be exchanged, and it is not paid back if you stop.
  • What you see. You see how many signed up with your code and how many of them became customers, but not who.
  • For study helpers. Your code shows that the recommendation came from you. It gives no compensation, neither money nor hours.
  • We may switch off a code that is used in a way it is not meant for, for example in advertising that looks like it comes from us. The offer may change or end; hours you have already earned remain.

Right of withdrawal

If you book a session here on the site, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act. The withdrawal period starts on the day the session is booked, that is, when both you and the tutor have said yes to the time.

  • You withdraw by telling us within 14 days, at info@nextrum.se. You do not need to give a reason. You can use the form below, but you do not have to: an email that clearly says you are withdrawing from the booking is enough.
  • If you have paid for the session, we refund the full amount no later than 14 days after we receive your notice, to the card you paid with. If you have not paid yet, you pay nothing for a session that has not started.
  • Most sessions take place within the withdrawal period. When you suggest a time, you are therefore asking us to hold the session even though the period has not yet ended. If you withdraw after the session has started, you pay for the part that has taken place. A session that has been fully held cannot be withdrawn from.
  • If you buy a plan or prepaid hours, the same right of withdrawal applies, counted from the day of purchase. If you withdraw, we refund what you paid, except for the hours already used. Those are counted at the hourly price you paid for the plan or the prepaid hours, not at the regular price.

If you are a tutor

  • You apply, we interview, and you can start only once you have been approved.
  • You decide your own hours, your subjects and how much you work.
  • We agree your hourly rate together, and you can see your hours and statements in your own view. Payment is made for sessions that were completed and reported.
  • All payment goes through Nextrum. Never accept payment directly from a family — that is the whole basis for the parent having oversight.
  • You must not move the relationship into your own business on the side. This is not a formality: the family chose us because we vetted you, and outside the platform none of those guarantees apply.

How to behave

Contact takes place in the platform’s chat, so that the parent can see what is said. Abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour leads to the account being closed. That applies in both directions.

Our liability

We are responsible for arranging and running the service. We are not responsible for study results, nor for matters outside our control — such as outages at our suppliers.

If something goes wrong because of us, we compensate at most what you paid over the previous three months. That limit does not apply if we caused the damage intentionally or through gross negligence.

If you are a consumer, the mandatory rules of consumer law always take precedence over what is written here. Nothing in these terms limits them.

Ending the agreement

You can stop whenever you like. Paid sessions that have not taken place are refunded, and hours left in a plan or prepaid hours and minutes in the time bank are refunded as described under Plans and prepaid hours. We may close an account that breaches these terms, and will say why.

Changes

We may change these terms. We give at least 30 days’ notice of material changes to those who have an account. If you do not accept them you can stop before they take effect.

Disputes

Swedish law applies. If we cannot resolve a dispute between us, it can be examined by the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or by a Swedish general court.
