Cookies and storage
A short page, because there is little to report: the public pages set no cookies, and we only measure what you say yes to.
No cookies on the public pages
We measured this rather than assumed it: the public pages set zero cookies. Without your yes, nothing is stored in your browser, except the answer itself, until you log in.
The box that appears the first time asks about two things, and you choose each one separately: visitor statistics and ad measurement. Saying no to both works just as well. You change your choice below, or via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
The only place a cookie is set is when you pay for a session by card. Then it is Stripe that sets it, and only for the payment.
Your choice
Your choice is shown here once the page has loaded. Without JavaScript nothing is stored, and there is nothing to choose.
Visitor statistics
If you say yes, Vercel Web Analytics counts how many people visit the site and which pages are read, and Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast the pages load. Without a yes, none of it is loaded.
- No cookie. Unique visitors are derived from a hash of the IP address and browser type, with a salt that changes every day. The raw IP address is not stored, and the same visitor gets a new value the next day.
- What is sent is which page was read, where you came from, country, operating system, browser, whether you are on a computer or a phone, and how long the page took to load.
- We ask because the script makes your browser send that information, and the Swedish Electronic Communications Act requires your consent for that, even without cookies.
- The student view and the tutor view are not measured at all.
Ad measurement
We want to know which ads and links lead families to get in touch, so that we do not spend money in the wrong place. If you say yes, your browser remembers where you came from until you close the tab, in what is called sessionStorage. If you send an enquiry or an application, it is included.
- What is remembered is the website that linked here, the page you landed on, and the tags we ourselves put in the address when we advertise. Nothing about you.
- It does not leave your browser until you submit a form, and then only to us.
- If you say no, we only see the page where you sent the enquiry.
- We do not currently use any advertising pixel from Meta, Google or anyone else. If we turn one on, the box asks about it specifically, including people who already said yes, and this page is rewritten the same day.
How your answer is stored
- Your answer is kept in your browser for a year, in localStorage, so that we do not ask on every page. That requires no consent: without it, we could not avoid asking.
- If your browser says you do not want to be tracked (Global Privacy Control), we treat it as no to everything, and the box is not shown.
- If you withdraw a yes, the page reloads without what you said no to.
What is stored when you log in
When you log in, your session is saved in your own browser, in what is called localStorage. That is why you do not have to log in again on every page.
- It never leaves your device except to our login provider.
- It requires no consent: it is necessary for something you asked for yourself.
- It disappears when you log out. You can also clear it yourself through your browser’s site data settings.
- If you collapse the menu or a panel in the view, that is saved too, so the view looks the same next time. It is a choice you made yourself, and it is sent nowhere.
When you pay by card
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Their script is loaded only in the parent view, and only when you press “Betala med kort” (pay by card). Stripe then sets two cookies, __stripe_mid (one year) and __stripe_sid (30 minutes), and the checkout in the panel may set its own. They are there to detect card fraud.
- They require no consent: the payment cannot be made safely without them, and you asked for it yourself.
- Nothing from Stripe is loaded before you press it, and nothing on the public pages.
- How Stripe handles the data is described in Stripe’s privacy policy.
What is not here
- No cookie on the public pages, not even for the statistics
- No pixel from any social network or ad network
- No third-party cookies on the public pages
- No profiling and no automated decisions about you
- Nothing that follows you between sites, or between days
The third parties that are still loaded
Even without cookies, every visit means your browser fetches files from someone. This is the entire list:
- Vercel: the site is hosted there, so all traffic passes through them. If you say yes to visitor statistics, they are also the ones counting visits.
- Supabase: the database and the login. Contacted when you submit a form or log in. The servers are within the EU.
- Stripe: card payments. Only in the parent view, and only when you press “Betala med kort”.
The fonts and the library the login needs are hosted by us, so that your IP address is not sent to anyone beyond that.
If that changes
If we ever add anything else that requires your consent, such as an embedded video or an advertising tool, the box asks about it before it is loaded, and this page is updated at the same time. What is already here does not change quietly: this page has been rewritten every time something was added.
